Resources from today's assembly

The 20/20 episode that was shown in assembly today, originally aired on ABC on October 14, 2011, titled "A Hidden America: Children of the Plains".

A review of the show, and Twitter responses (via #HiddenAmerica) was featured on India Country Today, a Native American media network.

November is National Native American Heritage Month, and after watching the assembly about life in the Pine Ridge reservation, we know many of you still have questions about the legal difficulties of reservation life, social issues such as alcoholism and teen pregnancies, as well as some of the historical background leading up to these contemporary issues.

We've pulled together some websites, books and articles that hopefully help to answer some of these questions and/or provide additional knowledge for how best to help, as Aaron has suggested.

Please feel free to let us know if there's anything we should add, change or edit!

Hope everyone has a thoughtful Thanksgiving.
